A Successful PhD Defense

Last Monday was a special day for our laboratory as we celebrated an important milestone in the scientific journey of Anderson Fraga da Cruz: the successful defense of his PhD thesis!

The research focused on the development and investigation of an innovative propolis-containing nanosystem, exploring its potential within the complex melanoma microenvironment. The nanosystem was evaluated using both in vitro and in vivo models, bringing together innovative nanotechnology approaches and the biological properties of propolis in the context of melanoma research. Part of the work was performed at Dr. Loretta L. del Mercato laboratory at CNRNanotec (Lecce – Italy), under a very successful collaboration.

Four experts were invited to evaluate the work and participate in the thesis defense. We are delighted to share that the committee highly praised both the quality and relevance of the research and the candidate excellent defense, scientific knowledge, and ability to discuss the results. The positive feedback from the committee made the day even more special and marked the successful culmination of years of dedication, hard work, experimentation, and scientific discovery.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone who contributed to this research journey, and wish Dr. Anderson every success in the next chapter of their scientific career!
