Principal Investigators

Carolina Camargo de Oliveira, PhD

Bachelor in Biological Sciences (Universidade Federal do Paraná -2002), PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology (Universidade Federal do Paraná – 2006). Posdoctoral fellow at University of British Columbia (2008-2010). Has experience in cell biology, focusing on morphology, and cell signaling. Acting on the following subjects: cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopies, high dilution, nanocomposites, cytocompatibility, and melanoma.

Célia Regina Cavichiolo Franco, PhD

Bachelor in Biological Sciences (Universidade Federal do Paraná – 1988), Master’s in Morphology (Universidade Federal do Paraná – 1994), and PhD in Biochemistry (Universidade Federal de São Paulo – 2002). Has experience in Cell Biology, acting on the following subjects: cell culture, microscopies, polysaccharides, melanoma.

Edvaldo da Silva Trindade, PhD

Bachelor in Biological Sciences (Universidade de Santo Amaro – 1996), Master’s in Biochemistry (Universidade Federal de São Paulo – 2000), and PhD in Biochemistry (Universidade Federal de São Paulo – 2004). Has experience in Biochemistry, focusing on Chemistry of Macromolecules, acting on the following subjects: heparan sulfate, endothelial cells, glycosaminoglycans, heparin, as well as melanoma and cancer.

Fernanda Fogagnoli Simas, PhD

Bachelor in Biological Sciences (Universidade Federal do Paraná -2002), Master’s in Sciences (Biochemistry) (Universidade Federal do Paraná – 2004), and PhD in Sciences (Biochemistry) (Universidade Federal do Paraná – 2008). Has experience in Biochemistry, focusing on Chemistry of Macromolecules, acting on the following subjects: vegetal gum exudate, polysaccharide structures, cell culture, and melanoma.

José Eduardo Vargas, PhD

Bachelor in Genetics (Universidad Nacional de Misiones – 2007), Master’s an PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – 2009 and 2013). Postdoctoral fellow at Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (2015). Has experience in construction of biotechnological tool for gene therapy or gene transfer and cell culture, focused on the following subjects: understanding the genetics complex of diseases aiming new molecular targets for therapy.
